About

Built by people who have
argued with a carrier.

Pixel Data is a standalone product with its own brand, codebase and infrastructure. It exists because usage billing is treated as a solved problem by everyone who has never had to reconcile an invoice by hand.

Three tools sit between a small operator and knowing what they earned this month: a billing platform, a data warehouse and a dashboard tool. Each one is sold separately, priced for enterprises, and requires an engineer before it produces a single useful number.

The result is that most operators bill from spreadsheets, discover margin problems weeks late, and pay supplier invoices without checking them — not out of carelessness, but because checking a forty-thousand line CSV by hand is not a job anyone will do twice.

We built one tool that does all three for usage data, installs with a command, and audits what you are charged as well as what you charge. It is priced meaningfully below any single piece of the stack it replaces, because the engineering that makes it cheap to run is our problem, not yours.

How we decide things

Four principles that have vetoed more features than they have added.

A wrong invoice is a stop-the-line event

Billing has no tolerance for “usually fine”. Duplicate events, late arrivals, DST at a period boundary, prefix collisions, retroactive plan corrections — each one is a test before it is a feature.

Every number must open

If you cannot click an amount and see the events and arithmetic behind it, it is not a number you can defend to a customer or a carrier. Drill-down is not a feature here; it is the point.

No lock-in, loudly

One click exports everything you have ever sent us, in open formats, including during the trial. If keeping you needs a contract clause rather than a better product, we have already lost.

Published pricing, no sales theatre

Prices are on the pricing page. Signup is self-serve. Cancelling is a button. Nobody is going to ring you.

The boring, important facts

Where your data lives, how it is protected, and what we deliberately do not do.

Data residency
United Kingdom — one region, named rather than chosen
Storage
Your raw events, retained for the period your tier includes
API keys
Hashed at rest, revocable, with last-used tracking
Money maths
Fixed-point throughout, half-even rounding at the final amount only
Payments
We never hold or move your customers' money

What we deliberately do not do

  • We do not collect payments from your customers. Payment collection is regulated territory and we stay out of it — we push rated amounts into your own provider instead.
  • We do not calculate tax or VAT. That is your accountant’s job and your ledger’s job.
  • We do not sell, share or aggregate your data. If we ever publish anonymised market benchmarks, it will be opt-in and it will say so plainly on this page first.

Terms, privacy and data processing

Our terms of service, privacy notice and data processing agreement are published in full before signup, not after. There is no clause that makes leaving harder than joining.

Questions about any of it go to legal@thepixeldata.com and are answered by a person.
